Places like Shakra's make life worth living for me. The sandwiches are great, served with steak fries, and they're just a stroll from the water. Try the hot italian, the house specialty. Jeff Shakra has been making sandwiches here since 1972. But don't picture some old guy putting lettuce in a bun. Shakra's is decorated with muscle-busting photographs of Jeff's days as a bodybuilder. Nay, the place is a shrine, really. And you've got to picture Jeff after a life of tanning and protein shakes. He's like a big brother that always looked out for you and maybe beat you up now and then, too. The sandwiches are tasty and consistent, and places with personality like this are all too rare these days. All you need to know about Shakra's is that corporate chain sub-shop Quiznos opened up a block from Shakra's with the goal of putting Jeff out of business, but it worked the other way around--it's the Quiznos with the "Space for Lease" sign in the window.

Allot of bread on the subs. Small for the price. Was not impressed . Gave a three based on service and clean place. Based of food it wasn't a wow for me.

I absolutely LOVE this place...Family owned and operated..The food is great..The Roast beef Supreme is my favorite..I have been eating here since the 1970s...They are dog friendly, kid friendly, and community conscious...

Let me start off by saying I read up on the history of this deli before visiting. I have wanted to go for some time to see what all the good reviews were about. I ordered a sub and have to admit it was......delicious!!!!! Yum!!! But...the reason for the 2 star review? The server messed up my order and I could hear the owner, Jeff Shakra, yelling about the order being messed up in the kitchen. This is my very first visit and I don't know his personality. Maybe this is just how he is and he was venting? But......it made me feel very uncomfortable and I honestly felt guilty for the messed up order. I said to my co worker that I would have just eaten the original order if I was going to feel bad. :-( Like I said, subs are yummy....but I don't go out to eat to hear people getting scolded for making mistakes. Not sure when I will return.

Me and my family have been coming here for over 10 years.....We have followed them and been customers at every location.....The food and service was phenomenal....Roast beef supreme and fries and gravy..... all the way!!!! Hands down the best place for hot subs around..... I would give this place 10 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Family owned and a Jensen Beach favorite! If you're in the mood for a fresh sub, hot or cold, skip Subway and treat yourself to a homemade sandwich. The family is friendly and knows most customers by name.

This place is Jensen's hometown champion of heros....subs...and good vibes. Its a must-go-to when in Jensen. Everyday has a special....but the one that makes my heart go pitter patter is Turkey Tuesday. Its a Turkey sub, with stuffing(Momma Shakra's original recipe), Provolone cheese and .....GRAVY!!! Get it with Spuds and Mud(fries and brown gravy) for the best Shakra experience.

Years ago they had a sign hung that read: Work free, drug place. I used to hit up Shakra's pretty much every weekend on the way to the beach. I miss it so much! I don't care how much work or drugs are going on, these are seriously some of the best sammies to be found in Jensen. Which is saying a lot because I kinda live and die by Publix subs.

I've been coming around to this area for 15 yrs, ever since Shakra's was in it's previous location, and I make it down here about once a year, Shakra's is a mandatory stop. Hands down some of the best sandwiches in this country! I don't say something like that lightly. If it's your first time get the RBS, as far as I'm concerned, it's their crown jewel. If you're vegetarian, the fried eggplant parm is outta control. Enjoy. Shakra's is one of a kind!

I love this place. It has real character and great hot Italian subs! I've been getting Shakra's hot Italians since high school, and now twenty years later whenever I come home to Stuart we always order sandwiches on our way to the beach. With all of the bland corporate tasting food out there, Shakra's is the real deal.

I've been going to Shakra's since they were located in Rio and the dad ran the place. We went to Jensen Beach this weekend and planned Shakra's as a first stop. We were running late so I called at 4:45PM to order two subs to go for 5:00PM and was told by a young girl that everything was turned off and put away and they were not taking any more orders. This was so out-of-character for this place because the owners have always gone way of their way to provide great service and wonderful "Roast Beef Supremes." One bad experience in 35 years is really a good record so I still give them 5 stars. They need to train that young girl though.

It is a nice place, the sandwiches are tasty, the operating family is super friendly, everything is clean with a down-home feeling. As a side note the menu is a bit bare for a deli, you will not find otherwise expected items, there is no pastrami for example, the choices of meats are quite limited, etc 4/5, it is a decent place that lives up to expectations
